Increase in number of cars on roads of Lahore, lack of driving sense, scarcity of patience and dangerous driving are among the long list of traffic problem in bigger cities of Pakistan. Above all is the one basic problem which has been ignored since countless years which eventually results in a lot of accidents and has a major role in giving birth to all other mentioned problems. Yes it is under-age driving, one of the biggest threats (after without license driving) on roads.

This morning I was driving for my office when a car overtook me from the right side and I was shocked when I saw who was driving the car. A young kid, school going (because he had the same uniform as others sitting in the car and looked like he is 14-15 year old) was driving to other kids to school. Why don’t their parents think before giving them the car to drive?

We have seen all those kids drives bikes but not too many on cars. I think strict action should be taken by proper authorities against under age and without license driving

I think its a big problem and following steps should be taken to improve the situation.
- Without license driving should result in immediate fine (the rule is already there just a strict implementation).
- Under-age driving should be completely banned (extra fine should be charged if the driver is under-age). This can be verified by asking for NIC. however later cancellation mechanism should be provided if the driver was unable to reproduce it on spot.
- Proper education program in partnership with schools should be initiated.
- Some mechanism to educate parent should be devised as well (i agree with Waqas on this one, a lot of times its parent's fault)

An hour ago on my way back to home, I was thinking about this problem.

There will be millions of drivers, so they cannot be taught in some driving school, now the best that can be done is to make some general driving guidelines; which should be distributed and people should be given ample time understand them.
Secondly, underage driving should be banned.
At least Shehbaz Sharif can take this step and I think instead of making a world class DNA testing Laboratory he should try to first resolve the law and order situation and these kinds of public issues.
